I, Jasmine, am directing my first short film post-grad from Ithaca College.

I am the writer and director of I Grieve Different. I'm a native New Yorker, born and bred in Harlem. My godfather gave me my first camera, a Canon T3i Rebel, in middle school, and I took photos every single day. I went on to making skits with my younger brother as I waited for my hair to dry in my godmother's salon on 125th. I was fortunate enough to take IB Film in high school, where my appreciation for film was then rooted in the history of cinema. (Thank you Ms. Lipkind and Mr. Digregorio) I graduated with a B.F.A. in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts, as well as a B.A. in Race, Power, and Resistance. I now work at NYU | Photography and Imaging as an Administrative Aide, happy to see the photographs of up-and-coming photographers. I am reminded to "keep moving forward."

Logline: A young black musician grapples with the loss of a friend and her insurmountable emotions bubbling.
